I bought an Ultra HD enclosure and it was nothing but plastic junk. It ran too warm, the space inside was barely large enough to fit the drive into and I constantly felt like I was going to snap it in two.
So I exchanged it for this enclosure and, man, am I glad I did! Installation is a breeze (4 screws, 6 if you want to secure the drive), it's always cool to the touch, it's aluminum (which will hold up longer than low-grade plastic) and there's enough space for both the drive AND your fingers during installation.

Works great with PC / X86 hardware. I use mine in Windows XP and Linux without problems.
I'm not sure why the MAC user had issues. It sounds like buggy hardware or possible system issues.

This drive works great with Windows XP. I had NO issues with it. It's quiet and I'm finding tons of uses for it. I have 2 internal hard drives and this shows up as a third one. Don't hesitate to pick one up.

I bought two of these for my Mac. One works fine by itself, but using two at the same time doesn't. Only one volume will mount (whichever is plugged in first). Had to return them.
