Perfect
This is a very good product. I got this on sale during the Black Friday sale and I have been nothing short of happy ever since. The computer fires up, you see the motherboard screen, you see a very brief windows screen, and then it is on. Game loading is virtually non-existent in smaller games and in larger games it is drastically cut down compared to a standard HDD. I have had no issues with space or with temps. Quality product for a great price.
DO NOT BUY THIS DRIVE!
Terrible product, do not buy it. Most manufacturers tell you up front if you need additional software but Crucial does not. Bottom line, you cannot format it using a Windows CD, you have to copy an image onto it and unless you have software that can do that you will have to purchase it, then make an image to use. Crucial Support was non-existent, you are on your own. I will NEVER purchase another Crucial product regardless what it is.
Love this drive!
This is my second Crucial M500 series SSD drive. I am very pleased with both. My first was 240GB, this is 480GB. Just can't have enough space. Love the speed of solid state drives. While Windows and Mac are listed as supported operating systems, I run them both fine under Ubuntu Linux. Dollar per GB, the 480GB is the best priced SSD I've found yet. So please don't buy one! I need Tiger to have an overstock and put them on sale so I can buy more! :)
Received ssd and it was used.
I received this ssd in the mail today, I went to load windows 7 on it and it already had windows on it. It was used!!
Great and Good
Replaced a laptop HD and get 6 times speed improvement for every type of disk operation. Time to boot to a useable desktop with Win 8.1 is 6 seconds instead of 36 seconds. Copy gigabytes of files is 6 times faster, open applications is 6 times faster. Also replaced a desktop HD but performance is only 1.5 to 3 times faster (not surprised, but somewhat disappointed.
