Poor Service Kills It All

These one-stars are for the Viewpad-7 I received from Viewsonic after sending in mine for repair. If you're lucky to get a good working one that won't suddenly die, this Viewpad-7 should be ok. Mine was good when new, but broke down after less than 6 months of use. I sent back everything to Viewsonic for repair, but they sent me back an older refurbished unit with an older firmware which cannot be updated and which is not working properly together with dirty accessories to replace my relatively new one after keeping me waiting for one full month. I complained numerous times but they simply ignored. Beware of this fact: Viewsonic offers absolutely poor service, and even swaps their non-working old stock to customer's relatively new purchase. The price seems to be ok, but it's actually too expensive because there's no positive service, and returning the unit to Viewsonic for a repair may end up giving you back a non-working obsolete unit.

No better price out there!

Despite this unit being somewhat outdated, running on Android 2.2, it functions extremely well. I bought it because of the unlocked phone functionality, which makes it a great world wide travel phone. I can get a sim card for whatever country I might be visiting, or use Skype. I can easily do travel log entries on the run. If It's lost or stolen, I won't be as devastated if I had purchased a tablet at twice or more the cost of this unit.

Performance and Quality does not match comercial

Purchased pad thinking would work as shown on videos. However, product under delivered. Screen is not synchronized and keys and icon bleed into others so makes it impossible to use. I wish that I had put a few dollars more and purchased a better product.

In a class of its own

I have the VPad 7 for a couple of weeks now. It does everything I need it for - two cameras, GPS, Wi-Fi and unlocked 3G, Android market and large screen area. I bought it for 350, the price dropped to 299 by the time I got the shipment and this site was good enough to give me a no-hassle store credit for the difference. UPDATE: Three months later the USB socket to charge the battery went loose and could not charge the unit. Viewsonic arranged for an RMA and will replace with a new unit after 2 weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed!

great price for touch pad

great price for touch pad, but doesnt come with a lot of programs on it. download some movies to the sd card and it would not play it. also would not play any games i transfered to it.
