It’s a notebook PC, after all – just a very powerful one.
What It Is And Why You Need It:
A complete multimedia laptop computer that allows you to be highly productive at the office, on a business trip, or at home.
Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz Quad-Core Processor
8GB of DDR3 1066MHz Memory
ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics (1GB DDR5 discrete graphics memory)
802.11n Wireless LAN and Bluetooth
Windows 7 Home 64-bit Premium
Inspired by the F117 stealth bomber, the matte-finished G73 is an ergonomic feast of gamer-centric features – a huge keyboard that lights up for night time ops and can be turned off instantly for stealth, ample handrest real estate and rubberized surface areas for comfort during prolonged sessions. Twin rear exhausts draw heat away from the action with some of the best cooling around. This afterburner effect doesn’t come with a noise penalty – G73 is a formidable performer, but it’s deadly silent. Visuals look awesome on the 17.3” full HD screen, and made even better by the ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD5870 with 1GB GDDR5 – an overkill GPU taking notebook gaming beyond the edge so you no longer have to switch graphic details off in options menus. The ASUS G73 is 100% DX11 compliant – offering all the benefits of the latest graphics standard. Future proofing never had this much firepower.

Once you accept that this is a powerhouse laptop that is going to be a stationary non-traveling companion, you have a great desktop replacement computer.
Had this computer little over a month and love it. Quick load up from initial start up, keyboard lights, computer design itself will turn heads, doesn't get too hot underneath after long periods of use, extremely fast and should stay ahead of the curve for the next 2-3 years with massive amounts of memory, good speed and graphics card and memory.
My real only complaints is the computer won't last long off power source, which I knew ahead of time (1-2 hours on internet surfing) and the touch pad gets a little too sensitive and touchy zooming the screen in and out every so often , but a lot less now since I know how to change sensitivity of the touch pad and work around it just fine.
Great computer. Alienware killer in terms of overall value!

The laptop looks great! It has lots of nice features and it is plenty fast. But here is the rub. It wont do well what it is designed for. My machine will not run Crysis OR Starcraft. It seems there are problems with the drivers. Customer support has been good so far. I will wait to see how they handle this issue.

The G73 that another local store sells is around $300 cheaper, but it has 2g less RAM, as well as a lower quality screen. On rare occasions the bb G73s DO come with the same upgraded screen as this model, but this is very rare and there is really no way to know if you are buying the upgraded screen version or not until you start it up. As I have played on both my G73(Bought from Here) and my good friends G73(from bb), I can honestly say that the improved screen really makes your gaming experience better. The way I see things, if you are going to spend a lot of money on a machine that can run any game you throw at it at maxed setting, then why would you settle for an inferior screen quality? As a sidenote, yes, this laptop can have a ton of problems if you happen to get a lemon, but just about every one of them can be either avoided or fixed with a little bit of research, so dont be too critical when comparing this laptop to others.

What Is A Cell? It's a
battery
Though technically a battery has multiple cells, we are accustomed to calling a
single energy cell a battery as well.
In
electronics, a battery or voltaic cell is a combination of many electrochemical
Galvanic cells of identical type to store chemical energy and to deliver it in
the form of electricity. The battery cells combine to produce more energy
(voltage or amps) than a cell by itself. When joined in this way, it is a
battery of cells. Almost all portable electronics use one or more cells -
rechargeable or disposable. The more cells, the more energy available -
meaning more hours of use usually.
In Notebook computers, the battery case usually
holds three or more cells. 3 Cell batteries tend to provide about 1-3
hours of use, depending on the energy needs of the Laptop. 6 cell (or
more) batteries provide much more energy, and many more hours of use. This
can be good or bad! More cells mean longer use, but more weight too!
So remember to always check for the number of
cells if specified, and choose the right configuration for your use.
Battery Trivia:
The invention of the first battery (known as a Voltaic pile) was in 1800 by
Alessandro Volta! The first known usage of the battery (as we know it
today) was in 1863 by the physician named Flora Bills.
Recovery Media
Most computer systems no longer include "Recovery Media" (Disks or CDs used to restore your computer system to it's factory shipped state). Many do not even include Operating System disks.
This is not specific to systems purchased from any one company, but now standard practice throughout the entire industry.
However, many manufacturers include software on the hard drive that creates recovery media for you. This allows burning your own set of recovery CDs or DVDs - all you need is the blank media.
Inclusion of such a recovery utility varies by manufacturer and model; not all manufactures and models include such a utility. For those that include such a utility we recommend you create your own set of recovery media after completing the Windows installation. In other words, right after you start using your PC!
If you fail to do this and encounter a difficulty in the future you may not be able to properly restore your computer.
Some manufacturers may have physical recovery media available separately for purchase; consult your owner’s manual support information section for additional information. Systems that do not come with a CD/DVD burner may still include Recovery Disks - please check the manufacturer's specs.
Contents of package may vary from those pictured and stated here,
due to changes in manufacturer's specifications or merchandising.
Please check the product information carefully, items not included
may no longer be required.
