We bought this a few weeks ago for $399. Awesome deal it looked brand new. 1st boot was that of a brand new computer. Burned the recovery discs but one disc failed to verify worked on second try so no biggie. The trick to the upgrade is to use the website from gateway which is a 3rd party site! Our upgrade is on its way. we added the extended warranty for $149. Everything works on ours. Very satisfied with this buy.

Mine would not fire up, I guess it needed a little more refurbishing. I returned it and got an open box Lenovo for $450 which I really like.

This computer is fantastic! I was a little worried about the weight when I was first comparing laptops due to personal and business use. This does not feel nearly as heavy as the listed weight. I too burnt the recovery disks and got an error burning the second disk. I put in a new DVDR and it worked perfectly. I ordered the Win 7 disc about a week ago but haven't received them. The 16:9 wide screen is vibrant (LED) and the images come out crisp (very impressed!). 4 gig of RAM makes this computer fly. I use it for home and work. At work I have Firefox up with multiple tabs as well as Internet Explorer with multiple tabs. I also have Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Adobe running. No hiccups anywhere. Battery life is excellent however I haven't timed from full power to shutdown. I use a 2nd monitor at work for dual screens and this sets up very easily with a simple

When running Recovery Management Create factory default disc, the DVDR kicks out saying to incert a blank CDDVD into the optical drive. I can use burner program and burn files to the DVD fine. With no backup discs, this option has to work. I tried with a CD and the backup died on the second disc with a verify error. I might have to send this back.

I bought this for my wife and she loves it. The screen size is nice and big. She likes the numeric keypad and the touchpad. We just signed up for the free Windows 7 through Gateway's website. How can you go wrong at this price? It's a great value. The trouble will come when the kids come home from college and realize that mom has more computing power than they have.

HDMI is fully backward compatible with PCs, displays and consumer

standard. Both HDMI and DVI were pioneered by Silicon Image and are based on

What is the difference between HDMI 1.3 and HDMI 1.3a, or 1.3b?
