I purchaed the 1 TB from them over a year ago. and well it died after 4 months but I must admit I wasn't very gentle with it. I've had other brands and they didn't stand upt to the same punishment either. Asuming they would investigate and think I mistreated it and there for not replace it I didn't sent it back. Aditionally it had been anumber of months and I assumed it was out of warrantee. I never read those things and besides I usually just replace them. Well a few weeks back I needed I realized I was going to need one and thought well I can wait a few months until a good deal came up. Then I went to the site and for kicks I ran the warantee. I was shocked that it had a 3 year warrantee. So I sent it back ($5.00 shipping) and a week later I had a new one... No Charge. I was shocked. And this one is so much more quiet. I would deffinately buy from them again. |

I purchased a different Hitachi GST drive, manufactured in Jan 2009 and lasted less than 9 months. Covered under the warranty, but at 1 month later after they received the defective drive, I am still waiting for the replacement drive. If this is representative of their warranty response, look for a more reliable drive and with a company that cares about service. BE WARNED. IF YOU CAN'T SAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT with timely warranty response (who can wait for more than one month for a replacement drive), I question the value of the product. |

I installed my 2TB Hitachi hard drive in my Windows Home Server last night and the install went flawlessly. The drive is quiet, cool (5 degrees cooler than the Seagate and Western Digital drives) and fast! The hard drive will be used in my Windows Home Server and I strongly recommend that drive when you need a large amount of storage and physical space is at a premium. |
