I've been using this Tom Tom gps for about a month now, and I used it to drive across the country from Ohio to Louisiana. I have another gps from a less expensive brand, and let me tell you that this is an entirely different experience. It updates routes quickly, can find pretty much anything, and is for the most part very accurate. The Bluetooth works well and connects easily. I've also been impressed with its ability to find a signal, even in a t-storm. The ability to program your own voice is fun too.
My only qualm is that it doesn't get very loud without some distortion from the speaker, but I know that most people hate hearing these things go on and on anyway, and the visual directions are very clear. |

I purchased this refubished unit. However, the maps that were installed were old and had to be renewed at a cost of $78.00. That made a refurbished unti $178. I can purchased the same model new at local stores for $180 and no shipping. This is not a value deal. |

Ordered my unit online and it was delivered in about 2 days! Pretty happy with my unit so far. I figured the 'Latest Map Guarantee' would probably be expired as I didn't buy new. I did however update to the latest running software quite easily. Lots of other free goodies are available to download as well like ringtones, QuickGPSfix, pictures etc.
I'm stoked about the bluetooth capability. I have a Crackberry Curve 8900, and while I can use the handsfree calling features and transfer my address book from the phone to the GPS, my phone isn't compatible with the read-write SMS feature. This isn't a big deal for me though. I'm just glad that I don't have to bother with my bluetooth earpiece any longer.
On a couple of occasions though I've had to reset the unit because the bluetooth somehow seemed 'stuck' and wouldn't connect to my phone. After the reset, the phone connected no problem.

On the surface it seems like a great deal. Don't get me wrong here. I'm very Happy with my GO 630. But, what happens here is that you purchase the Refurbished unit from here. Then, when you get home and try to get your free map update (to be done within 30 days of purchase), you learn that the free map update is expired. So you wind up having to pay $79 for a map update. In the end, you paid the same amount for a Refurbished unit as you would have paid for a brand new unit. Had I known, I would have just gotten the new unit. |

I've used a lot of different GPS's over the years, and I've found TomTom to best the best overall. This was a great deal, and I'm very happy I picked it up. Only disappointment is the free map upgrade is expired with these refurbished models. Makes no real difference to me however. I love this GPS. |
