This was a birthday present for my son to use for school and also to play games. Excellent laptop, nice looking, very good graphics. For the price, absolutely perfect! |

Excellent service and delivery. I was a bit worried about a refurb model but I went for it and it's been really excellent so far. No problems with Vista and compared to my old steam-driven hp laptop, the Asus is lightning-fast. It also runs much cooler and quieter than the old hp. |

First of all, delivery was excellent. I received my laptop only 2 days after ordering. It was well-packaged and, for a refurbished machine, in excellent condition. No scratches, no dead pixels. There was some dirt on the screen and keyboard but that was easily wiped off. One discrepancy that I noticed is that contrary to the specs there is no 56k modem included, not that I mind. It would be nice to have a bigger hard drive and bluetooth, but for the features you get, this was an amazing value. The only complaints that I have is that the general construction of the unit feels a bit flimsy, and the touchpad buttons are too big and stiff. Otherwise a fine product! |

I just received this laptop. I immediately removed
Vista and put on the Windows 7 RTM. The install was flawless. I have since done testing of video playback, and can play any video, including 1080p source without any problem, the on-board 9300 although not perfect for playing games, makes this a media powerhouse. Since it was a Refurbished machine, there was a scratch on the back, but other than that, it has been perfect. |

I expected more, but its a good deal for its price.
The laptop arrived with a few scratches on its cover.. That was an immediate disappointment; but I got over it. The OS for me is pretty good, fast. Sometimes I get jumpy when using the laptop, it the monitor flashes half of the screen or go completely black for a moment then goes back to normal.
Also the keyboard, some of the keys do not respond properly, its like typing blanks. Have to type hard now... |

What Is A Cell? It's a
battery
Though technically a battery has multiple cells, we are accustomed to calling a
single energy cell a battery as well.In
electronics, a battery or voltaic cell is a combination of many electrochemical
Galvanic cells of identical type to store chemical energy and to deliver it in
the form of electricity. The battery cells combine to produce more energy
(voltage or amps) than a cell by itself. When joined in this way, it is a
battery of cells. Almost all portable electronics use one or more cells -
rechargeable or disposable. The more cells, the more energy available -
meaning more hours of use usually.
In Notebook computers, the battery case usually
holds three or more cells. 3 Cell batteries tend to provide about 1-3
hours of use, depending on the energy needs of the Laptop. 6 cell (or
more) batteries provide much more energy, and many more hours of use. This
can be good or bad! More cells mean longer use, but more weight too!
So remember to always check for the number of
cells if specified, and choose the right configuration for your use.

The invention of the first battery (known as a Voltaic pile) was in 1800 by
Alessandro Volta! The first known usage of the battery (as we know it
today) was in 1863 by the physician named Flora Bills. |
