Pros: Can read dvd's and cd's much faster than an ide drive could for me. Frees up a place for a secondary ide hard drive if I need more storage. Does not sound loud at all in my pc which sounds like an airplane taking off due to my cheap fans. It is less long than all other ide drives I have used before so it does not look cramped next to my power supply.
Cons: At its price you could not expect it to write dvds or cds and it doesn't. It is oem so for those who don't have extra sata cables lying around you will need to buy one.
Overall: If you are just looking to read dvds and cds this is the best sata drive offered for this price.
