Right out of the box, the touch pad didnt work and severl of the indicator lights didn't work or stayed on constantly. We tried to get a replacement but they kept sending us parts to change. I'm not a couputer technicial and they wanted me take the computer apart and replace internal components. Excuse me?! We were not able to get the laptop replaced with a properly functioning one and on top of all this it was not designed to work with the Windows Vista that it came with which made for constant conflicts and problems with the computer. If I was independently wealthy I'd throw this one in the trash and buy something else. Unfortunately I'm not so I'm stuck with it until I can save up for a Window XP machine that was not a refurbished unit. I would never recommend this unit to anyone other than my worst enemy. Computer problems aside, Windows Vista doesn't work with this machine so don't buy it with Vista as the OS.

Off-Lease
ACCEPTABLE QUALITY
The term “Off-Lease” refers to merchandise that has been leased to, and used by, a customer, then returned to the leasing agent at the end of the lease period
(typically 2 to 3 years). Upon receiving the merchandise at the end of the lease period, the leasing agent or a third-party, inspects, repairs, cleans and re-packages the merchandise, then offers it for sale as “Off-Lease.” There are several “grades” or Quality designations for such equipment, such as A, B, C, etc. We ONLY PURCHASE Grade A equipment and CAREFULLY inspect every shipment to insure that ONLY the best quality equipment is offered for sale.
On these items, you will usually see minor signs of use, including minor
scratches, slight wear on keyboards, etc. This is a great way to save
money on a working unit if minor wear is not a concern - for example: to an
industrial or educational user, or for a young student. For more

What Is A Cell? It's a
battery
Though technically a battery has multiple cells, we are accustomed to calling a
single energy cell a battery as well.
In
electronics, a battery or voltaic cell is a combination of many electrochemical
Galvanic cells of identical type to store chemical energy and to deliver it in
the form of electricity. The battery cells combine to produce more energy
(voltage or amps) than a cell by itself. When joined in this way, it is a
battery of cells. Almost all portable electronics use one or more cells -
rechargeable or disposable. The more cells, the more energy available -
meaning more hours of use usually.
In Notebook computers, the battery case usually
holds three or more cells. 3 Cell batteries tend to provide about 1-3
hours of use, depending on the energy needs of the Laptop. 6 cell (or
more) batteries provide much more energy, and many more hours of use. This
can be good or bad! More cells mean longer use, but more weight too!
So remember to always check for the number of
cells if specified, and choose the right configuration for your use.
Battery Trivia:
The invention of the first battery (known as a Voltaic pile) was in 1800 by
Alessandro Volta! The first known usage of the battery (as we know it
today) was in 1863 by the physician named Flora Bills.
