This PCI Express based serial adapter card allows you to turn a PCI Express slot into two RS232 (DB9) serial ports. Based on a native single chip design (no bridge chip), this two port serial adapter card allows you to harness the full capability offered by PCI Express (PCIe), and reducing the load applied to the cpu by as much as 48% over conventional serial cards.
Easy to Install
The RS232 Serial Adapter Card (PEX2S552) is compatible with a broad range of operating systems including Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, Linux Kernel 2.6.11 and up, and MAC OS 10.4 and above. Plus, the card includes an optional low profile bracket that allows the card to be installed in any PCI Express slot, regardless of the size of the computer case.

I bought the card to connect my ham transceiver to my Windows 7 computer after my USB converter would not work with Windows 7. The card arrived promptly and installed correctly. It has functioned without a glitch. On the negative side, the card cost a bit more than I expected and the connecting cable was not shipped with the card so I had to wait a few days more for the cable. |

Bought this card as I needed two com ports to control my ham equipment with my new windows 7 computer. Installed with no problem with Windows 7 Home and worked perfectly. Very happy with the card and didn't have to use USB to serial adapters. |
