You get what you pay for...
not all that until you turn off some features to speed up the laptop. Color red is not bad. Pretty good for a refurbished laptop with 4GB. My wife loves it, but slow with vista. Can't wait to see what happens when windows 7 comes out!

Nice Mid-size laptop
I bought this laptop July 2008. 1 year now I've been using it. So here are my opinions. Looks great (I did not like red at first but laptops are red these days). Labelflash makes it easy to personalize disks, but disks are pricy. Webcam works well. The media center controls make it easy to control music when multiple applications are open and media player is minimized. I sent it back to Gateway because WMP 11 (or none of the other players that I tested) does not sound good when I increase the equalizer settings for low frequencies. However, it was a limitation of Microsoft VISTA so gateway could not do anything about it. I've also tried this on some friend computers that have VISTA and they have the same problem. At least Gateway took it and looked at it. I like the switch on the side that turns the wireless on/off. Not a lot of bloatware preinstalled. A CD to install 32-bit instead of the 64-bit Vista was included with instructions- nice to choose either. It's a fingerprint magnet t

Great Product!
I am very pleased with this laptop. Like the other reviewer said, however, it does have a tendency to overheat. Otherwise it is great! Boots up quickly and everything. Another knote is that because it is a really glossy laser red colour, finger prints will show so you have to constantly wipe it down - unless you don't mind a fingerprint or two on it

Great machine, if you don't mind red. NO spamware (thanks Gateway), very solid case, great tactile keyboard. I have the 3 gig ram version, and it's performance while multitasking is excellent. It is a fingerprint magnet though - you'll be wiping a lot. Great screen, decent sound, good mouse. One small issue, it will overheat, giving you a blue screen and shutdown. Get a cooling pad.
