Pros - easy to use, inexpensive, good battery for a smart phone
Cons - the screen broke within a week from a 5 inch drop to the cupholder in my car. I have it taped up and a screen cover on it to hold it together. If you buy this do what you can to protect the screen and do not drop it! |

I would recommend this phone as a great basic texting phone (for today's standards, that is) and consider all the other features a nice extra but not rely on them and attempt to use this as a 'real' smartphone. Mine worked out of the box with my AT&T sim card and also with a foreign sim card I have. I expect to use this phone when traveling out of the country. I modified the battery cover and now comes out more easily with out being too loose. battery charge gives me about 3 full days with light use (mainly texting). |

I previously had the BlackJack II, but prefer the interface on this one. I love the side scroll wheel and cannot figure out why Samsung abandoned it. I also had difficulty removing the battery cover and scratched it. The rekease is actually to the right of the button indicator. Have gotten the extended battery and new cover, which increases the POOR battery life and now, no more scratches. I only wish that it had 802.11 capabilities, but is is, after all, an older phone. |

I got one for my wife.
Pros:
SIM card went right in and worked.
Works great with ActiveSync.
Cons:
Battery life is horrendous.
Battery cover is next to impossible to get off.
Upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 is available from Samsung, but you have to use either Windows XP or Vista 32-bit to get it onto your phone.
Mine was missing the correct cable and the one I was told I'd be receiving never arrived - I just got my own - required for the upgrade, BTW.
My battery was scratched and I have to say, I'm wondering if it was used.
It locked up on my wife today, and she left it for me to deal with. I checked, apparently others have had the lockup problem, as well.
Had to pry the battery cover off and yank the battery to fix that.
Consider something else, especially if you're the one who has to provide technical support for it. Had I not upgraded the OS and scratched the battery cover trying to get it off, I'd return it in a HEARTBEAT. |

Screen is difficult to read at times. Looks like a toy. Could not get phone activated with Bell Mobility as it was not on their list of accepted phones. Eventually found a work around but not all phone plan features active. Phone is easy to use and easily upgradeable to Win Mobile 6.0. Nice features but would shop around a bit more next time. |

2. Supplier will not accept returns or process exchanges on phones that have physical damage or have been wet. We're sorry, but if you damage it, they can't accept it back. In the very rare event that your phone is damaged when you receive it the damage must be reported within 72 hours of receipt. In these cases we will issue a return authorization and EXCHANGE the damage phone for a like or similar model depending on availability, provided the serial number matches.
3. Supplier will not accept returns or process exchanges on phones damaged by water or any liquids. We know it might've been an accident, but whether it suffered a small splash of water or a swim in an ocean, they can't take it back. There are test indicators in the phone that let the supplier know that the handset has been wet. |
