Gigafast EE400-R 10/100 Mbps 4-Port Cable/DSL Router
For those who would like to share their Internet access, GigaFast offers the EE400-R.
Not only can the EE400-R serve as a 4 port switch for creating your 10/100Mbps
network, it also has IP Sharing and network security features, making it the most
complete router solution available. Serving as an advanced firewall, the EE400-R
prevents hackers from entering your private network. The EE400-R is GigaFast's
all in one home internet sharing device.
As a router, the EE400-R is compatible with any operating system with a web browser,
including MACs, PCs, and Unix machines. The EE400-R is compatible with all these
operating systems because it uses web based configuration. The WAN port may be
connected to the incoming Cable/DSL/Ethernet signal with up to 253 client computers
connected directly or through other hubs and switches to the 4 10/100Mbps ports
on the EE400-R. The EE400-R will then assign IP addresses using it's built-in
DHCP server, allowing client computers to receive TCP/IP settings directly from
the router. Then through one of the client computers, the EE400-R can be configured
and all the client computers will be able to share the Internet connection.

It's a good router, and does what it's supposed to very well. The configuration isn't cluttered with extra features that are rarely used like other models. One really nice thing about this model is that it has a 100MBps WAN connection, where most have only a 10MBps. Only small complaint is that it could use more port range forwarding options, but for home use it's more than adequate. |
