So far, so good
I installed this as a backup hardrive for my home PC. It has been is running well for 3 months now. Upon installation, the drive was not recognized by my system. You have to go to the Western Digital website for technical instructions specific to your operating platform in order to use the hard drive. Instructions are very good, but packaging makes no reference to them.

I've trusted WD with my Pc Upgrades. This is my largest driver. Theres always a chance of failure but that why you back-up regularly.

Very nice secondary harddrive!
I have had this HDD for 6 months now as a secondary hdd, an ssd being my primary, Ive used most of it with only 350gb free it has not failed me yet. Very efficient since it lowers rpm at idle.

Perfect Drive!
This is my 5th WD drive in 3 years with no issues. All of them are still running strong, and they are on 24-7. This is the first 1TB Black drive I have purchased. I use this drive for strictly backups, so large amounts of data get written to it at once, usually around 400GB at a time. These drives are top notch! Don't hesitate with these, get one today!!
