Linksys WRT150N Wireless N Router
Start a Wireless Network With Up To 3X the Range and 9X the Speed!
The Wireless-N Home Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.
The Access Point built into the Router uses the very latest wireless networking technology: Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios, Wireless-N's "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections up to 3 times farther than standard Wireless-G.
With Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the router can increase the throughput even more by using twice as much radio band, yielding speeds up to 9 times as fast as standard Wireless-G. But unlike other speed-enhanced technologies, Wireless-N can dynamically enable this double-speed mode for Wireless-N devices, while still connecting to other wireless devices at their respective fastest speeds. In congested areas, the "good neighbor" mode ensures that the Router checks for other wireless devices in the area before gobbling up the radio band.
To help protect your data and privacy, the Router can encode all wireless transmissions with industrial-strength 256-bit encryption. It can serve as your network's DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
The incredible speed of Wireless-N makes it ideal for media-centric applications like streaming video, gaming, and Voice over IP telephony, and gives you plenty of headroom to run multiple media-intense data streams through the network at the same time, with no degradation in performance. With the Linksys Wireless-N Home Router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games, and run media-intensive applications at incredible speeds, without the hassle of stringing wires!

| Linksys WRT150N Wireless N Router Wireless-N is the next generation of wireless with advanced radio technology that is fast and boasts coverage area that virtually helps to eliminate dead spots. The level of speed that Wireless-N offers makes it ideal for media-centric applications like streaming video, gaming, and Voice over IP telephony, even all at the same time.
The new Linksys WRT150N Wireless N Router is Linksys’ answer for consumers who wish to utilize Wireless-N technology and connect multiple devices in their home network at incredible speeds. This is a sign of the many wireless home networks that have come to include various lifestyle and consumer appliances with wireless access. The Linksys Wireless-N Home Router is an affordable solution which provides a higher level of convenience, security and performance to your own home wireless network.
The WRT150N router looks like a standard router having a size of 7.40" x 1.57" x 6.93”. Its black and blue body is the same size as the WRT300N, but it provides only two standard antennae, which are mounted on the rear. Also on the back edge are the standard ports: one WAN port, four LAN ports, a power jack, and a pinhole reset button. The front edge of the router houses labeled indicator lights that correspond to the jacks on the rear.
The Linksys Wireless N router presents Wireless-N access point capabilities. The Access Point uses the latest wireless networking technology, Wireless-N’s MIMO (Multiply-In, Multiply-Out) technology for effective data rates. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The Linksys Wireless-N Access Point lets you connect Wireless-N (802.11n), Wireless-G (802.11g) or Wireless-B (802.11b) devices to your wired network so you can add PCs to the network with no cabling hassle. Additionally, it has a 4-port full-duplex 10/100 switch and a router which ties it all together and lets users’ whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. This router is designed to deliver more speed and range without the high costs of new technology. It is a reliable choice for home and office users.
Furthermore, the Linksys Wireless-N router can encode all wireless transmissions with 128-bit encryption technology which helps to protect data and privacy. Setup and configuration is quick and simple with the web browser-based configuration utility. It can also serve as a user network’s DHCP Server. It also has a powerful SPI firewall to help protect user PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports Virtual Private Network (VPN) pass-through.
Setting up the WRT150N router is simple, and Linksys makes the process transparent. The setup wizard walks you through all the steps, starting with disconnecting your PC from your modem. Once you've installed the router, you can configure your wireless network using the router's Web-based configuration tool. The WRT150N includes all the latest security features including 256-bit encryption; WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA-PSK2 security protocols; SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) and NAT (Network Address Translation) firewalls; and VPN pass-through.
The Linksys WRT150N Wireless N Router makes setup easy for newbies, boasts great throughput and wide coverage and offers the latest security features at an affordable price for an 11N router.

Great with firmware upgrade.
I've had this router for a year and I followed the advice I found on several reviews and updated teh firmware to the dd-wrt firmware. I found the new firmware gives me an incredible amount of control of the router.

I bought the combination of a refurbished WRT150N router and WPC300N PCMCIA Network Adaptor. Initially I had some issues with inability to load web pages whenever the signal strength dropped to about half or less. After upgrading the drivers for the WPC300N the combination is now working well and I can connect at 270 Mb/s on three levels of my house - the throughput adjusts automatically as I get further from the router but still maintains a good connection. UPDATE: 11 months after purchasing this router, the wireless functions have failed completely. The LAN portion is still working fine. Linksys technical support was helpful but they quiclky concluded that I had tried everything possible and that the unit was defective. As it was refurbished it only has a 90 day warranty so I am out of luck!

Quite simply put this router is amazing if you replace the original firmware with the DD-WRT. This router was kinda iffy until I replaced the Linksys firmware with the DD-WRT firmware. Now the router has been performing to the best of it's ability. Best decision ever! This is a must get, especially for the price what can you lose!

Great hardware, poor software. The firmware was horrible on this thing, but I put the dd-wrt firmware on it and it has been functioning flawlessly. For the price you can afford to tinker with it.
