WooW Lots of BANG for your BUCK!!!!
I own one of these Diamnd HD3850 card's and with paying $65 for this card in box with all accessories it was a STEAL!! When i got this card the clocks were factory overclocked 725Mhz GPU and 900Mhz Memory i am now running 800Mhz GPU and 1025Mhz Memory with using the Pencil Mod!!! This card is a BEAST!!! Running games on MAX settings with a resolution of 1440x900 on a 19-in wide lcd monitor. Games include Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2, Need for Speed Shift, Aliens vs Predator 2010 release, Wolfenstein, BattleField Bad Company 2 BETA, TimeShift, UT III, Far Cry 2, and last but not least CRYSIS!!!!!!
Couldn't be happier.
I bought the Diamond Radeon HD 3850 Video Card from Tiger to connect my 50' plasma as well as my 20' monitor to my PC. It installed (including opening the case and installing the card) in about 15 minutes without any hitch. It came with the adaptors I needed (DVI to HDMI and DVI to VGA). The picture is incredible, and I got it insatlled just in time for football season. I love ESPN 360 even more than ever now. Thanks Tiger for your great prices and instant shipping.
Nothing but Trouble
I have had nothing but trouble with this card. I bought 2 of them for crossfire and have always had heating issues. Not sure what I've done wrong, but I've tried default setting and lower setting and a whole different sort of combination settings but they always seem to overheat...I've replaced the stock fans with other fans, changed cases, you name it; I just can't get these to play WoW longer than an hour before shutting the system off.
I really wish I could properly review this product but I can't. It never worked right from the onset. I was willing to blame a host of other things for this until it quit working entirely. Now the company is a different story! Same thing just different. They sent me a RMA and even a ticket number. Still nothing about a replacement card though and getting information seems to be hampered by the holidays it seems. I sent it in before Christmas. I guess I will not be buying Diamond products ever again. As for Tiger. A great place and Great people. The kind of company who one enjoys doing business with.
I bought 2 of these to work in Crossfire mode, and I have to say, I'm very satisfied. I have encountered the same problem as jbird a few times while I had crossfire enabled...I think that older games don't cooperate with crossfire as well as newer games designed for it. With older games you don't need crossfire anyway. Great price on a great card! Not top-end, but an extremely good price to performance ratio.
