THIS PRODUCT SHIPS IN OEM PACKAGING - GO GREEN AND SAVE GREEN

Manufacturers sometimes offer discounts when large quantities of products are purchased without fancy, colorful, retail packaging. We take advantage of these opportunities to bring you the same quality, retail product at a lower price. Retail packaging is designed to look good on a store shelf and attract your attention. It frequently includes more paper, plastic and cardboard than needed. OEM packaging is not as visually attractive but is far more economical and because OEM packaging uses less paper, plastic, ink and cardboard it creates less waste and is better for the environment. Although OEM packaged product ships in a plain white or brown box you can be assured it is the same quality product as the retail packaged version. Buying OEM packaged products saves you money and helps save the planet…GO GREEN AND SAVE GREEN. Included accessories, software, documentation, and manufacturer warranties on OEM products may vary from retail versions. Please review our detailed specifications and photo gallery for included accessories and see below for warranty information.

Not the smoothest running device, but still fun to play with. I like the video and audio capability, but sometimes when syncing in Media Player it gets disconnected. I used a TomTom and prefer the more advanced features. It's true, the GPS doesn't take you extremely close but it should be close enough. TomTom wasn't perfect either, although it does reroute much better. I hook this to the AUX input on my car stereo for better sound. Nice big display and sleek looking design!

For $129.99, Awesome, note to the guy that says there's no external antenna, turn your gps around, and look beside the speaker, you see that little plug that has a picture of an antenna, Imagine that. Ebay has them for 20 dollars for all HK gps models; finding a gps signal is the same for any gps in cloudy or rainy situations, I've played with a lot of these. Mio', digiwalkers aren't bad either. Also, in order to get detailed maps of Canada or U.S., you need to verify your home address information in the settings, it's not rocket science, and Harmthis is much better than the garmin's, and Tom Tom's I've seen and played with. A lot of features, Dual core processor with 2gb's internal memory and 128mb's of ram it's fast finding and locating anything. I bought a 2gb sd card too for only $7.97, either way for being a unit in the $300-$400 regular range on sale for over $200 off. Cant beat it. To update maps go to TeleAtlas.com

$129 at this price not uptodate Map (Canada) as tested. Not 100 meters wrong on GPS location. Good for Somebody already know the places. Tried the shortest distance feature and I got Loss many times. I guess its good on Music and Playing Video not for GPS...harman kardo should stick in area where they good at.

I found this unit to be ok. Except for not having the feature that most GPS's have, such as showing how fast you are going. As far as updates on maps, go to www.harmankardon.com and search for updates. You need to slip a ''sd'' card into it first though.

Well,I got what I wanted. I was looking at the tom tom and the nuvi's. I mean for the price, I got this product at Tiger direct for 130 bucks and found most other devices in that price catagory lacking severely. Nice big screen as well, the little touch screens of the competitors products I found agravating. Entering addresses and the likes we're pretty easy too. After you hit Canada, Ontario and you start typing in the first few letters of your city, you get to pick it from a drop down list. 10 seconds is all it takes. My parents live in the only house on a street in the Middle of the countryside and a few dozen km's from that certain small town and this device had no problems getting me there. The video and the MP3 player is great. The screen is clear and It can run on batteries alone for 5 hours. Lastly, the geek in me is telling that I probably don't just have a gadget here, you have a mobile computer Running on windows CE. I wonder what else I can do with it

GPS Terms You Should Know!

GPS - Global Positioning System (Device) - Is a device that works with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) developed by the US Dept. of Defense. It is the only fully functional GNSS in the world, and uses a constellation of between 24 and 32 Medium Earth Orbit satellites that transmit precise signals allowing GPS receivers to determine their current location, the exact time, and their velocity.  Also known as a Personal Navigation Device, Navigational System, GPS Receiver, or GPS Navigator.

System - The GPS Device itself.

Navigation - Is the process of locating your current position, establishing your destination, and controlling the direction and movement of a vehicle from one place to another.

Compass - A device or feature of a GPS receiver that shows your current direction.

Map - A map (or chart)  is a visual representation of an area, showing different objects or landmarks; such as: streets, buildings, locations, and points of interest.

Trip - A trip is the travel from point A to point B.

Point of Interest - A POI is a recorded location within the GPS Device, either pre-defined, or that can be end-user entered.  Usually these are accessed to speed setting a destination, or a detour.

Trilateration - This is how a GPS device knows its location.  It uses three GPS satellites to trilaterate its position.  GPS units operate on a common clocking system to use the variation in radio-frequency signal arrival time to calculate their position.

Automotive GPS - A GPS Receiver typically used in a car or truck.  Depending on the design, can also be used on motorcycles, boats, or as a hand-held GPS, but is not designed specifically for these uses.

Mounting - Dash or dashboard mounting usually involves a suction mount holder, that can easily be removed for storage when not needed.

Traffic - Traffic can be: the display or information provide about real-time traffic conditions; about historic traffic conditions at different times of day; or the ability to route around typical congestion points on your Trip or route.

Voice - Voice features can be: spoken information that the GPS provides, including spoken directions, street names, or alerts; or can be voice commands that the GPS owner gives to the GPS device.

Touch Screen - A covering over the GPS display allowing control of the features or map of the GPS Device.

Bluetooth - This is a wireless technology allowing different devices to communicate.  In GPS systems, Bluetooth usually allows the GPS device to act as a hands-free speaker phone.

Geotagging - This is the saving of a GPS coordinate to other information, such as a photo, point of interest or other location.  Using a GPS you can usually obtain exact coordinates that may be used with other devices, or other devices, such as a Digital Camera may have GOS built in for that purpose.

GPS Vehicle Placement!
NOTICE TO DRIVERS IN CALIFORNIA AND MINNESOTA:

State law prohibits drivers in California and Minnesota from using suction mounts on their windshields while operating motor vehicles. But you can easily use other GPS dashboard or friction mounting options.  Consult your GPS manual for more information.

GPS units are designed to provide you with route suggestions. Unless a GPS unit contains a traffic receiver, they do not reflect road closures or road conditions, traffic congestion, weather conditions, or other factors that may affect safety or timing while driving.  Use the unit only as a navigational aid. Do not attempt to use the unit for any purpose requiring precise measurement of direction, distance, location, or topography. This product should not be used to determine ground proximity for aircraft navigation.  The Global Positioning System (GPS) is operated by the United States government, which is solely responsible for its accuracy and maintenance. The government’s system is subject to changes which could affect the accuracy and performance of all GPS equipment, including the unit. Although the unit is a precision navigation device, any navigation device can be misused or misinterpreted and, therefore, become unsafe.
