I'd bought this EVGA 8800 GTS SSC 640 MB card to upgrade an existing EVGA 8800 GTS SC 320 MB card on my Intel DP35DP motherboard, which has a single PCIe 16X v1.0 slot. After upgrading my display from 19'' to 24'', the 320 MB frame buffer would slow down the frame rates during gaming, so I needed the 640 MB version to remedy this. As the 640 MB card came with a full version of Crysis, I've had plenty of time to verify that it handles the extreme graphics load very well. This EVGA card has exceeded my expectations. |

AWESOME card!!! As soon as I installed this card the first thing that I did was to play the FREE CRYSIS game that came with it. This card ran the game at the highest settings with NO lag at all. I have an xClio Windtunnel Case so cooling was not an issue at all. This cards has the G90 engine and according to Everest Ultimate Edition it DOES have 128 Stream Processors which would help to explain why it is so fast, even without overclocking. A lot less expensive tan the 800 GTS & Ultra versus with performance that is close to them. |

reply to jean phili = yes the card gets hot.. it comes out of the box with the fan running at 60% which u can turn up with rivatuner.. it says here the ram is 1800 Mhz GDDR3 but on the box it says DDR3.. also it says on rivatuner the ram is clocked at 900 Mhz... im still kinda new to this computer stuff.. but i am catching on and hope i can get some answers.. good quality card that came with CRYSIS!! My system = EVGA 780i, 8800 GTS SSC, Q6700 not overclocked yet, thermaltake V1 CPU cooler, 4 GB OCZ SLI Memory, 250 GB Seagate baracuda, 750W Ultra X2 power supply lights up blue to go with cPU cooler blue lights inside my Ultra uluminus case Clear side panel.. |

This get easy hot. you will need a good cooling fan... I suggest go for a non overclocked card...

Awesome card!!!!! runs crysis great on high everything. it runs on very high also w/ no AA, but with a slight lag every now and then. i have a xfx 680i mobo w/ a q6600 oc to only 2.7ghz and 4gb of ram on Vista home premium x64. great card tho. i definitely recommend |

There are 3 types of cardbus slots currently available:

PCI
- The most widely used I/O bus, it provides a shared data path between
the CPU and peripheral controllers, such as network, display, SCSI and
RAID cards. Though limited in terms of performance, they are considered
the best value when you upgrade your video capabilities on a PC. The PCI
interface can be found and used in nearly any motherboard.

AGP
- The AGP slot is next in line of higher graphic performance. It was designed
especially for the throughput demands of 3-D graphics. It offers up to
8x improvement over a PCI card, is 32 bits wide and runs at 66 MHz. It
provides a direct connection between the card and memory, and only one
AGP slot is on the motherboard. The motherboard must be equipped with
an AGP bus slot for an AGP card to be compatible.(AGP 1x provided a data
transfer rate of 264 Mbytes/sec. AGP 2x is 528 Mbytes/sec. AGP 4x is 1
Gbyte/sec. AGP 8x is 2 Gbytes/sec.)

Express - PCI Express is the newest technology that

performance as much as 4x faster than the fastest AGP 8X slot. PCI Express
connections can support fast data transfer rates, which can be used to
