I must agree, this thing is a POS. The software appears to be the culprit. The short cut on the desktop doesn't connect to the software most the time. If you let the computer go to standby mode or shut down due to time out, you have to reboot to get the software to come up and work. WTF?

People...want a good priced wireless card? Get this one. It works fine. Setup was 5 year old simple. Signal strength is moderate. Mine runs daily, no glitches..and I have told my friends to buy it!! Want one that reaches out miles?? Then pay for it!! This one is great!

Similar to other folks who are writing, I would concur that this product is a piece of sh*t. I cursed for hours trying to see my wireless network till I looked up the wirelesscm.exe error and realized that this crashing was the cause of my problems. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE DLINK WIRELESS ADAPTER.

I got this for an old IBM R31, running XP. I plugged it in and it installed with no problems. My complaint is the lack of signal reception strength. After installation, I got a ''fair/poor'' Signal with the IBM. I thought that it may the Laptop, so I tried it on my new ACER. I sat in the same chair, the ACER with it's built adapter will get good to excellent reception , and fair to poor with this adapter. The router is on the second floor about 20-25 feet and 2 walls from where I usually sit. All in all it installed with no problems, price is good and works pretty good if you can get a signal.
