This scanner is fantastic. I have had no feed problems, it is easy to use. I have always had HP scanners and they continue thier focus on quality |

The scanner has some feed issues, but nothing that can't be overcome. I use Google Desktop to search for my indexed scanned-in files and it works great. If your desk is cluttered with correspondence that you may need to access in the future, but don't want to file, I recommend this unit in conjunction with Google Desktop. |

First off, I work for a Bank as part of an IT staff. We purchased 3 7800's at the same time.
At first use, I thought this was an amazing scanner. The speed at which it scanned was quite amazing after using a HP 8250. The software includes the IRIS and normal HP document util's.
After scanning just a few single pages and having no issues, I grabbed a 11 page loan document. As I scanned my 11 page loan document, the scanner only scanned 5 pages. The scanner was multi-feeding. Pulling 2 to 4 pages through at a time.
In order to make a long story short, these 3 scanners all multi-feed and do it almost constantly. I have called HP several times over the matter. They have shipped out two replacement units so far. Both units are 7800 and have the same multi-feed issues as our original 3. I have used new paper, old, high gloss, and everything else I could find. Works well 10-15% of the time. Multi-feeds and jams the other 85-90% $1800 wasted on upgrading scanners. Old 8250 works better. |
