I gave it 5 stars for the PRICE, YOU CANNOT BEAT this Product for its price. The case is alittle cheap, but the LEDs are nice, Easy Install, just follow the directions on the back page of the instruction included with the case. I only got 280G of space tho. But what do you expect for the price. IT WORKS!!!

Excellent product at an excellent price. Be careful taking the enclosure apart -- if the plastic tabs holding the top break the top will not stay together. The connecting cables inside are short and stiff, so be careful bending them to accommodate the drive. I found that attaching them to the drive first and then carefully pressing the drive into place distributed the strain to the cables the best.
I had no trouble formatting the first 30GB of the drive Fat32 and the rest NTFS, but I didn't use Windows to partition it -- I used Acronis Disk Director (you can also use Partition Magic).

I have had this external hard drive for almost 1 month now and have not had any technical problems yet. But, the ULTRA case is very cheap,flimsy and louder than I expected. The top of the case will not close securely and the only thing holding the case together are 2 little screws. One in each of the stand brackets mounted on the bottom of the case. What can I say good about the ULTRA external hard drive enclosure? Uh, it has cool lights on the front. :-) Also, dont expect to get even half way decent instructions on how the hard drive jumper needs to be set to work with the enclosure. No, it does not come pre-assembled. Get out the screw driver.

Came fast, works great!
Hooked up to 2 xp, a 2000 and mac os X machines.
Great product. Case is a little flimsy but if you don't change the harddrive a lot it doesn't matter.

Ordered and came like clockwork. Case is a little flimsy, becareful when opening. Unit has separate power and usb cables, as well as firewire! Connected to an xp home machine and went to Control Panel, Administrative ..., Computer Management, then Disk Management. I created an ntfs partition and formated it. I wanted to create a fat32 also but my xp home was already service pack 2. So installed cd onto a win98se machine, partitioned rest of the drive fat32 and formatted it. When I plugged it back into the xp machine the beeotch wanted to format the fat32... I've done this before with other usb drives without this kind of crap!
Debating just formatting the whole thing ntfs, but I work on other peoples machines all of the time cause I'm a tech and wanted both to have different software tools for each, not to mention win98se craps on itself and won't read ntfs.
Oh well cheapo means u get what u paid for.
It does have firewire and it does work fast,
just a pain in the butt.
