Even with a good GPU, you need a good processor to deliver the information fast, too. If you're using graphics-intensive programs and games, I would recommend at least an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.66 GHz) processor, which will also allow you to run multiple programs at once with ease :). Hope it helps! Answer by Anonymous Posted 10/06/2008

An i7 processor will not work with your current motherboard. Only CPUs that fit in a 775 socket will work. I would recommend one of the Intel Core 2 Quad Processors. If you are looking to get a new motherboard, then I would get one with a 1366 socket so you can use one of the more powerful i7 processors. Answer by Stevo Posted 07/14/2009

#1. go to web site for your computer and determine which mobo is in it(Tom's Hardware is a site which may contain a diagnostic site address which can tell you what mobo you have if you can't find out from the manufacturer of the computer...#2 read spects on that mobo on sites such as Tiger DirectP.S. the computer manufacturer's site may tell you which CPU's are compatible Answer by Photron Posted 05/06/2008

It depends on what socket your motherboard is and what processors are supported by the motherboards chipset. You would need to find out your motherboard and do some research on it to see what is supported. For example a board may have a 775 socket but may not support the Core 2 Quad processors that use 775 sockets. It all depends. Answer by Anonymous Posted 02/22/2008

A Core 2 Duo processor is two dual-core processors connected by the Front Side Bus (FSB). It's like two houses on opposite sides of a road. Each house is a dual-core processor, and the road that connects them is the Front Side Bus. So Core 2 Duo processors have twice the processing power of dual-core processors. The difference is technology. Dual core processors (better known as ''Pentium D'') were the first dual core processors by Intel. Then, they released Core 2 Duo processors, with much better technology, faster FSBs, lower manufacturing proccess, higher Caches, and higher speeds, with lower energy consumption.
