I was surprized this thing really works. There were homes the map didn't have but if I put the addresses in it it still found the home. very good.

Arrived promptly; worked well out of the box; particularly like the quality of verbal directions (compared with another brand we have in another vehicle). Was surprised upon first out-of-town trip to be warned of a ''Traffic Alert'' along the route, with a predicted 1.5 hour delay. It offered logical alternate routes nicely. Only problem has been getting the on-line Content Manager to recognize the 5045 and acquiring the updated software and maps. Newer version (CM 2.0) was finally downloaded, and now the unit is properly updated.

After reading some of the reviews I was surprised at how easy it was to download the software and set up the unit. I had no difficulties. It has a ton of features. I guess the only negative is figuring out how to easily obtain all the information available.

More GPS than I expected, for the price. Getting traffic reports and new routes based on them was what I wanted.
Some minor issues include
1) the downloadable sofware that updates your maps and firmware is a problematic, but works
2) the CAA points of interest information is out of date or incomplete and of dubious value as a result
3) and even though I have the most up to date map version 43, developments two years old are not on it.

This is my 2nd refurb. GPS from this company. I really only upgraded to recieve lifetime map and software updates. Both units I own now work great and as advertised. Will buy again
