Perfect replacement for my Sony laptop
Installation was simple. I used WD software (downloaded from their website) to transfer all my data from the original hard drive. System came up and running flawlessly now for several weeks. I notice much less heat is generated on the spot that houses the hard drive than the original, and now I have much more data storage space.

Dead on Arrival
I am very disappointed that this drive will not spin up, I am sending it back for a replacement. To be continued....

Works well so far
I bought two, one to replace the hard drive of my GoFlex which died after only 8 months and the second one I put in a USB enclosure as a portable back-up drive. They still works well after two months, will they last on the long run?

Definitely looks very good to me.
I was so pleased with my first that I bought two more. I plan to use one as a network-attached file server on a raspberry pi, one in a USB enclosure as a portable back-up drive. They run so cool! --G

Solid Hard Drive, It's Great
A wonderful hard drive, I purchased two of these Western Digital Blue 1TB Mobile Hard Drive WD10JPVT to replace my hard drives in my HP laptop; I wanted to have clean hard drives when I replaced the windows 8 and switched to windows 7, because I really do not like windows 8. I trust Western Digital products and have for many, many years and this drive has not let me down.

best hard drive
cloned the old hard drive to this hard drive, and I have more room then I'll ever use. When fired up, every thing works great, even the system software.
