I bought this for my girlfriends son.
I bought this unit because the BTU's were more than what was needed for his size room. As far as I know, he loves it. He is able to now be comfortable in his room working on his computer or playing his games and not have to worry about those hot days making him miserable. He keeps his room at 68f and as far as I know this unit has no problems keeping his room at that temp. The particular unit I ordered was not refurbished as far as I know. This could have been why he has not had any issues with his at all. It has worked just fine right out of the box since he got it and has not had one issue with it yet. Overall, I am pleasantly pleased with this unit.

Wouldn't even turn on
We bought this product and paid the extra shipping to get it right away. When we got the Air Conditioner, we did everything by the book but after plugging in, it would not even turn on. Very disappointed after being assured it had been tested a number of times and worked.

Worked Great
Bought this unit to cool our tent while camping. Worked great. On a 90 degree day our 10 man tent was 76 degrees in the heat of the afternoon in direct sunlight. Put a fan in front of the unit to dispererse the cold air and it worked great.

Not what I had hoped for.
We bought this to cool a tiny office, it barely does. Do not purchase this unit unless you have a low window to vent it through.

Portable Air Conditioner
Works wonderfully. The reason I ordered it is that there is no water bucket to change once or twice a day. There is a 6'' flexible tube that has to exhaust through a window, all installation pieces are provided. They don't show it in the picture, so you might otherwise be misled. I got one for my daughter's hot second floor in Chicago--will get another one for home.
