Bought this computer for work as it was the only one available that had the specs I needed, and do didn't cost 2k or more (7200rpm hard drives in laptops are hard to find cheap). Overall awesome computer, crunches large spreadsheets in no time. Highly recommend for the office to speed productivity.
Great laptop
Great value for the performance. This is a replacement for my G50 that had the video card go bad. Games are lightening fast. Computer starts up super fast. The background lighting for the keys are excellent for working in a dark room.
Awesome Laptop - Replaced my old XP Desktop
I've had my ASUS G75VX for over a month now. This laptop replaced my XP desktop.
I use it primarily for my home projects and occasionally fly my MS FX Gold Edition flight simulator, which works great. Took my old XP desktop several long minutes to get going. I'm logged in and working on my laptop in less than a minute. The speed is awesome. Yes, Windows 8 is a little challenging for me, but I've already found workarounds that have made the transition from XP to Windows 8 much easier.
Best 2 weeks ever
I got mine 2 weeks ago and loved the awesome frame rate for the games I play online. Then all of a sudden today it decided to die. If thats what asus and rog products are like then no thanks. The video is spectacular I really havent seen quality like this before but durability needs help.
Very good laptop
The video card can take most games up to early 2013. I added an SSD. Boot time is under 8 secs, and wake up under 2 secs. One gets accustomed to Windows 8 after a while.
