a great travel computer

Love this Chromebook!
So far so good! This is awesome! Ready to use right out of the box. This thing is fast, use friendly, easy to learn. All the things that I wanted out of it and then some! So glad not to have to worry about viruses!

perfect for e mail and internet
my wife wanted me to get a kindle for the grandkids to mess with when they come over. I stumbled onto this instead, and I am so glad I did. It is perfect for internet, e mail, social networking .. it s fast. It is on immediately when you open it, it is fast and very very light. If you have a parent or someone that you want to keep in touch with, get them this and an internet connection, it is perfect. NOTE NOTE NOTE ::: WITHOUT AN INTERNET CONNECTION, IT IS USELESS .. IT NEEDS THAT. Since getting mine, my 13 yr old granson wanted one of his own , i got him one for his birthday. So now we have two. I cannot inagine we will stop there. Very nice. Limited use, but if you kee in mind what its intention are, you will not be disappointed.

Functionality Seriously Degraded
Before I purchased the Chromebook, I read the reviews and perused the specifications. The purchase seemed sound. HOWEVER, one glaring deficiency exists: Chromebook does not support Java. This cripples the Chromebook on many websites and renders it a paperweight.

Perfect for the Kids! Plays Flash!
My kids will be going through a homeschool program and needed to be able to watch streaming video. Thought about getting cheap tablet but the videos are Adobe Flash. Hurray for chromebooks! They play flash like a pro and are lightning fast! My kids can browse the web, facebook their friends, watch their school videos and do their homework on Google Docs, Spreadsheets, etc... I may be ordering one of these for myself :)
