Like a DVR Player for your TV
Works great when connected to an external storage drive. Can be laggy if you try to stream high def or high frame rate videos through wired connections. I use the NeoTv in my camping trailer attached to 8TB drives holding my movie files through USB and e-SATA connections. Have no complaints! The interface is similar to DVR or TiVo interfaces. Also includes a TAG program to add thumbnail images and details to the movie files, assisting in locating the video you want to watch. Connects by HDMI and RGB connectors. Great system for the price! I am buying 2 more of these for my house.

No Gigabit Ethernet port is a deal breaker
The Netgear 550 is a solid device offering all the features one could ask for in a network media player except for built in Wireless access. The reason it's going back is that it only has a 100 mb Ethernet port and that just doesn't cut it when it comes to streaming 1080p video with a full 7.1 surround track across the network. What a stupid place to skimp on features. No Gigabit, no good.
