A great buy, SilverStone will be my choice for fans from now on. I am using this as a CPU fan and on command I can drop my CPU temp easily 15+ degrees C. Running at 3000 RPM the fan cools every bit as well as the stock fan on my Thermaltake Volcano HS, with no extra noise. I have it running at 4000 RPM and it runs about 5 or 6 degrees cooler. Turn the fan up to full speed ( close to 6000 RPM ) and the CPU will drop another 10 degrees or so. The fan generates some noise at that speed, but it will only be necessary while gaming. And it is not so loud as to become annoying. I am going to be pairing this fan up with the Thermaltake A1442 ducting mod to make full use of my heat sink. |

The best thing in the world for a case fan. At full speed it whips out 5672rpm WOW. Thats faster then what my heatsink is going at. Its really noisey at full speed but if your a gamer and need a cheap way to get your computer cool and looking stylish this is the easy way out insted of paying 50-60 dollars. Also comes with a fan control its a MUST BUY. |

Don't be fooled by all the other, cheaper fans that supposedly pump out alot at high RPMs. These fans are the best 80mm's you'll find for under $10 I promise.
Each comes with a fan controller for a reason, lol, and you'll love these once you use them.
The lower power levels pump out nice CFM rates with excelent sound, and the higher settings will cool your rig in only minutes, assuming you can take the sound, which isn't unbearable.
The only cons I have with these fans are these:
1: They're loud, and the included fan controller fixes that.
2: They're a little bit thicker than most 80mm fans.
That's it, those are the only problems I have, and both were effortless to overcome. In my eyes, the preformance-to-price ratio makes this fan a true deal that you'll never regret. |

Ok, not enough room so here is what you need to know: Pros - works b|tchen! drops case temp dramatically. great control nobby. EXTREMELY quiet at lowest setting. Cons - loud as heck at full power. May not be easy to install in all cases. I am using this fan as an exhuast fan directly behind the cpu. I have heat problems and this has helped change everything! I had to use thick cardboard because my hdd racks are too far back to install the controler. Otherwise, everything else is included works. I run at 50% all the time, can barely hear it over my video card! Mobo temp dropped 5-10F HDD dropped 10f+, cpu 10+ and this is after i dropped in the new video card! I had major heat problems before but now are totally improved. I also got 2 fans for the case intake in the front blowing over my hd (Masscool 80mm Sleeve Bearing Case Fan) You can't go wrong with these 3 fans. I sat this fan on my desk and plugged it into my rig (yeah, I was a little excited). When I cranked it up to about 3/4 speed, it came racing across the desk and almost took my knuckles off. This is a well-made unit: solid construction, a good 4' of wire to play with from the adjuster plate, pass-thru molex connections and all the hardware you need (I'm picking up some longer bolts because the ones it shipped with seem a little short to secure it to my heat sink). Be warned: the adjustment knob sticks out 18mm / 3/4'' from the plate. I can't fit this thing into either of 3.5'' bays on my Chieftec Dragon mid-tower because the inside of the bezel door hits the knob (it would fit if I flipped the plate but then the pretty Silverstone logo would be upside down) I'm modding one of 5.25'' bay cover plates to accept the switch, then I'll be in business. As far as the noise, you're only running this thing at max speed when gaming so don't worry about it. Quick, clean delivery as always. |
