Very well pleased!
I bought this last fall and forgot about the review. I upgraded this unit to 7 Prem. and 2 gig of ram. The ram was simple to change out and only took a few minute to change by removing the cover on the bottom. I am very pleased with this netbook. I would recommend this netbook to anyone looking for some nice features and the compact size of a netbook, in my case for traveling.

All 5's, and I'll tell you why....
I've had this Netbook for a month now and I wanted to wait to break it in before I wrote my review. It took me 2 weeks to decide on a Netbook, and this ASUS gave me exactly what I wanted for $300. Don't expect this to be your workhorse for running multiple programs, video editing, or gaming, but if you're looking for a supplemental netbook or laptop to get things done on the go this is it. There are a couple cheaper ASUS options out there, but I needed HDMI output. Also, like everyone else, I upgraded the RAM and bought a 2GB stick for 20 bucks and it made a big difference when streaming HD movies. As far as Windows 7 Starter goes (once again, I have PC for gaming and video editing, etc) you get all the functionality you need. Plus, it includes Word and Excel Starter for free. Awesome deal for a Netbook.

Dedicated Video requires extra fan
I like this netbook. The dedicated video appealed to me, but I wish I'd thought it through. There is a separate fan for the video processor. It failed, according to the warranty service centre, where I sent it at vast shipping expense. Shipping for repair cost me 20 pecent of the purchase price, because the repair cente is in an obscure small town, rather than in the biggest city in the country, where I live. How long will the new fan last? How many times will it fail? Netbooks are not performance machines. My advice: don't get dedicated video, don't try to make it more than it is, just get a cheap one and think of it as disposable. I regret the purchase.

Awesome machine minus couple minor things
This machine is awesome! Plenty of power, loaded with bluetooth and the hdmi out. I only have a couple minor things about it I do not like. One the touchpad is kind of of crappy. Not a deal breaker but it could have been better. The other thing I really do not like is the ethernet port has this swiveling opening and it looks to me like it would snap off if the machine ever got pulled on with a cable still in it. All in all, you really cannot go wrong at $300.. It really is a nice device.

Great Product, bad software added
This netbood was a attractive and ran respectibly fast. Big problem, it comes preloaded with Trend Disgnostic security software (trial basis). I attempted to remove it and up load my favorite, Kaspersky. It was impossible to get every vestige of Trend off the hard drive. Also, the HDMI interface didn't work. Perhaps a vad video card. They took it back with no hassle. Kudos to ASUS and this company, but they need to be more careful about which software they load on their machines.
