Crossing fingers for Claims of Excellence
Looking at this NAS for complete redundancy and backup. Unit did not appear to work with non-Seagate drives. However, I think that was my lack of knowledge on NAS setup. I am not a network expert, but above average on standard computer use and setup. The NAS really threw me with unfamiliar terms. Help file was relatively complete, but still short on examples. I set up four brand new 2T Seagate drives for RAID 10. I am very satisfied now that it is up and running. At this point, I would recommend it.

Great Small NAS
Bought this NAS while on sale to replace a large, noisy tower server and to increase my backup protection to RAID 5. Easy to assemble (screwless) and fairly quickly I was up and running. Not every feature is there in this unit that the higher priced units have, nor are the instruction perfect, but overall a great NAS for the price.
