Assembling Barebones Computer Kits & Computer Cases
Remember when assembling one of our money-saving Barebone Computer Kits, or installing your existing computer components into a new computer case, you may have to modify the case to fit your components - This Is Normal! Cases are designed to hold and accommodate a wide variety of motherboards, interface cards, connectors, and other components. Because of this, the case manufacturer designs their cases with easily removable panels to allow these components to properly fit in the case. All you need to do is punch them out with a screw driver or fold them over with a pair of pliers to snap out the metal piece for your exact components. In this way, you save the cost of assembling your computer, and have the satisfaction of building your own workstation.

PLEASE NOTE: Carefully read all documentation BEFORE you start to assemble your Barebones Kit or add components to a Computer Case. Some components need to be assembled in a specific order. Also place the components in the case temporarily to confirm any modifications (punch outs) that need to be made to fit that component.

Most components included in our Barebones Kits, including power supplies, are not pre-assembled (mounted and connected in the case). AMD Complete Barebones Kit

I bought this Barebones kit for my oldest son and we had it up and running in no time! Everything went together smoothly. Definitely a good deal! He's currently running Kubuntu 10.10 (64-bit) and very happy with it.

really nice for the price

i got this system for my wife, i put it together and had no problems. i am running windows 7 pro and man is it fast.. we couldn't believe how fat it performed.. you cant beat the price with a stick or a bat. i told my professor about this deal he's ordering one for his wife.

Great Office Machine

This was my first system build and it was a snap. I was only looking for a business workstation that was stable enough for a small medical office. Went together without any issues. Fired up first time and no problems after 48 hours of testing. I really appreciate the fact that it came with a CPU cooler with thermal paste pre-applied. I agree with one other review that you should remove the cpu fan (4 screws) before setting it in. Also, depending on your use you may want to upgrade PS as it only has 3 SATA connections that are very short (is there such a thing as an SATA extender?). Case is adequate and is NOT screwless (still not a big deal). I did ad 2-120 mm case fans and this machine runs quite cool. For now I am very happy, but I am also writing this before installing this into the office network. Doubt if that will be any issue. I can't see any reason this wouldn't be a great computer for a student or any general home use.

Good deal

This AMD DIY kit came fast, with everything arriving the same day. I purchased two of these and had them both built very fast. They went together with no issues. I was concerned with cooling since there is no fans in the tower. It ran very cool with just the cpu fan and power supply fan. Install was a breeze also. Just a few notes. Thermal paste is on the cpu fan heat sink already so none is needed, but be careful not to wipe it off and also be careful installing cpu fan, takes some force to get it locked down. Also if you put dvd drive in very top slot the power cable will barely reach from there down to the harddrive. Anyway over all great deal and easy to build, for those who like to DIY. Im happy with it
