Customer Reviews
Creative Labs 70SB129000000 X-Fi Go Pro USB Sound
I bought this card to go into a usb hub with a keyboard&mouse dongle and a cheap webcam and a flash drive to plug into an intel compute stick to plug into an extra moniter that had an hdmi port.
It all worked!
I plugged a cheap mic into the card and a bose speaker setup and it works great.
The whole setup is a great cheap win 8.1 setup.
Excellent Device for the Price
We purchase five of these sound cards to be used on our laptops docking stations and so far we haven't had a single problem with it. We have been using them for a couple of months and the sound quality and functionality has been excellent. I recommend this device if you need a portable sound card as well.
Replacement for Onboard
I was looking for a simple way to replace a malfunctioning on-board sound card from. This product was fairly simple to install and work with. Win 8.1 recognized it and it worked out of the box without disabling my on-board card. The tricky part was digging into the Creative Labs website to find the driver that worked with the card in order to access the software features (Win 8.1 was drivers only - no software interface) for Windows 8.1 64 bit. I have a simple 2.0 sound system and this does well for that. No noise, hiss, or interference from my desktop with good customization features.
Worth the price
I purchased this for my netbook who's internal sound card died. I'm running OpenSUSE 12.3 (linux) and this card works great. Sound is fine. Convenient to use on the go. Worth the price
Not that good
I was using this product for several month now. First I was impressed with the sound quality and features of integrated sound processing unit of this product. Day to day usage has revealed one problem, that makes this device useless. I'm using convenient earbuds to listen to music (Sennheiser CX 55 - 16 Ohm load). When music has periods of steady tone on low frequency, sound card producing quite noticeable hoarse noise. Load of 32 Ohm or higher helps to improve quality. RMA-ed first card with Creative, second does a bit better, but I still can't use it.
Presence of the noise with earbuds defeats the purpose of having portable USB sound card.
Go with X-Fi 5.1 Pro or X-Fi HD instead.
