Adapts 16:9 monitor to older computer
Bought 2 of these to upgrade my old 3GHz P4s so that they can display properly on 16:9 modern flat panels. Great picture, good price, clear instructions and installed without a hitch.

Not too bad
First off, had to add a 9 infront of my Windows 8 professional to get this card to work, but when it did - the 16 bit colors really showed me what I had been missing from my real life! The images almost seemed to be reaching out for me. I ran some Doom 1 on it to relive some memories but I knew that this game would be no match for it so I tried Quake 1 in windows mode. Let me say that, everything looked so real - I thought I had been shot! I managed to eek 23 fps while staring at the ground or on the menu, roughly 7 fps in combat. Runs hot too, touched my finger on the heat sink and burnt myself a little. If I switch to software rendering or boot from a DOS floppy disk I believe I get well over 90 fps or whatever hz my CRT monitor runs at on Quake. In full honesty, I think a true stress test would be booting up a 3D flash game circa 2000 or some neopets.

Didn't work nicely with my computer
Was mentioned that any PCI (non-Express) video card would with my old computer. Worked fine for a while then errors started with each reboot. Would have to reset the dual monitors each time.

Forced to return item
I tried replacing a fried 32 mb Matrox 550 dual head with two of these 64mb cards, for dual monitor setup. They were woefully inadequate. Jumpy when dragging a window across the screen and very slow performance when compared to the Matrox. I had to return these cards and purchased another Matrox AGP which works perfectly with my CAD drawing program.

Works like a charm
I had no trouble installing the card in a Lenovo's lone expansion slot, no trouble disabling the onboard VGA display through the hardware manager under System in Control Panel, no trouble with installing the driver. The card will also fit inside a small form factor case such as a HP Pavilion Slimline. Just unplug the VGA connector from the card & unscrew the metal face-plate from the card.
