Good Performance
Faster performance - Sata 6G makes a diffence. Only downfall is harddisk led does not light up on case during HD activity - but this is minor. Easy to Install - Up and working in no time

Does the job
My HP workstation motherboard only has a SATA II connector for me to plug in my SATA III SSD. This card enabled me to utilize the SATA III speed of the SSD. The install was easy; no problem with drivers for Wndows 7.

not a good card for your older machine
Crashed my brand new sata 3 ssd raid array in 3 days. took 47 seconds to init the card on every boot up. One running the thing is fast really fast but not reliable with my intel dx38bt extream board and core 2 quad.

Good for sata III
I got this to have a sata III port for my new ssd. While I haven't tested out any raid configuration with it, I have been pleased with it alowing me to have sata III without a new motherboard.

poor compatibility
The specs lead me to believe that this was backward compatible with any machine that had PCIe slots. Not so, it seems. I tried this care, and returned it not knowing what the issue was. I bought another card, and it didn't work either. Not likely that two cards were bad, but tech support provided the insight: both used the same chip. Moral, be wary of claims of back compatibility.
