One of the best value brand cards out there
I bought this per recommendation by a friend of mine to take advantage of full SATA3 speeds on my Mushkin Chronos SSD. Best bit of change I've ever spent on a computer component. I recommend this without a doubt if you have bottlenecking issues with newer SATA3 SSDs.

Card is capped at 400MBS.
Bought this thinking I could raid 0 a couple of sata3 ssd harddrives. Works fine, but actually slower than my onboard SATA2 controller in raid 0. According to crystal diskmark this card benches 375-390 max regardless. Tried with second ssd in raid 0, same score. Would be ideal for one ssd or 2 mechanical sata3 drives. One ssd drive maxes out the card basically.

Older GigaByte MB SATA 2 Ports out
My 2 year old GigaByte MB 2 of3 SATA ports died suddenly so bought this Star Tech PCle SATA Controller Card so did not have to buy newer CPU plus MB. Using on Win7 Home Prem so did not have to install drivers. Used for DVD CD Rom and BU 500 GB HD. No problems so far. John Laning

Blue Screen Of Death
Shortly after installing this card in my Win 7 system I started receiving the BSD. Have removed the card and the BSD 's have dissapeared. Have not had time to troubleshoot but I expected better results than the BSD.

Doesn't support Trim
In spite of the info on the page saying it is good for using SSDs it doesn't support TRIM. I bought it with the intention of using 2 ssds in raid 0 but with out trim I am shooting myself in the foot. I like that it is 6G and has RAID but it will not work for me.
