great quality, fairly good on toner
great quality prints, copies, and faxes. toner use is better then a lot of the mid priced desktop lasaer printers

Nice
I had to replace an older LJ 1000 due to Windows 7 and the lack of a driver from HP. Just think about this I paid about 80 dollars less than the LJ1000 back in the day, got a very nice quality scanner, real fax (not through a modem on my computer) and the printing on this is noticeably faster than the LJ1000. I like the touchpad for it does allow for ease of use for the wife. Plus I networked it to the home server and USB'd it to my power workstation, so I'm getting more for my buck than I thought. It has a nice feature that if you don't use a separate fax line and may answer a fax call, dial 123 and it picks up. Also good power management. Cool device for the price.

Perfect Solution for a Small Office
I resold this MFP to two of my small office clients and it was the perfect alternative to a full size copier. Sets up in minutes in either IP or USB configuration. Prints fast and quiet. The fax feature works better than most dedicated fax machines. Document feeder works for fax, copy and scan. Updated driver required for most thin-print clients.I always use HP products.
