Works as expected
Recommended. Works with Mac right out of the box. The big bonus is that it comes with all the various connection cables.

Exactly as advertised
I was looking for something with Firewire 800 support and this was the cheapest option by far. As added bonus, it runs quietly and doesn't get hot even when I was doing extremely large transfers repeatedly, which is a nice change from my old Seagate. It even comes with all the cords you could possibly want! Looking forward to it lasting a while as my main back-up drive and definitely will buy another when necessary.

Exactly what I had hoped for!
Absolutely a wonderful external drive. Performance is wonderfully fast via fire wire 800 and partitioning was easy on my Mac book Pro. Only complaint is the sound amplification when the device is on a thin desk - it tends to hum a bit. So long as the surface isn't hollow it isn't an issue! This is a really good looking a solid piece of kit!

Good value, works well
I've only had this for a couple of weeks but it's working fine (I couldn't rate it for quality because I've no idea of longevity). I'm running Time Machine on it from a Macbook (and backing up several smaller externals). Setup was a cinch, it was recognized right out of the box. Be aware, though: It's designed for Firewire 800, so I had to buy a 400 to 800 adapter to run my older Macbook and older daisy chain (it has only one Firewire 400 port, two 800 ports). And amazingly, it comes with cables, so the extra Firewire 400 cable I bought is superfluous.

Fantastic
Works great with the firewire as my backup hard drive. Fantastic price for FireWire device from what I could find.
