Worked on Vista. The only thing is that mpg files have a size limit of a couple of gigs. So, you may end up with a couple of files per tape. Don't think this is a function of the device. |

The hardware works fine but the Software does not let you use it on any netbook. The video will not let you set up the software on the smaller screen with less than their minimum resolution. Works on larger screens tho. You can use Windows moviemaker and save a file on the netbook. |

New driver supposedly for Windows 7 does not work with 7 or with Vista. Installs halfway and impossible to reverse installation. Cannot reinstall old drivers to get partial functionality either.
If you are planning on upgrading beyond XP, find another vidcap product or don't upgrade. |

It is a good product but Before it will work with windows 7 you need to go their website and download the update. It is worth the money |

The product has stereo audio jacks, but only one works (this isn't a big issue since my home movies were recorded in mono). The software that comes bundled with the product is completely useless. The import software has constant errors and it unusable. The error says that I can't record copywrited material when I'm recording a home movie. When I contacted the software manufacturer, they gave me an autoreply saying I should reinstall all my drivers and programs and antivirus. THe problem is with their software. I got the product to work by finding open source software online. The DVD creation software is very buggy and has limited features. If I had to make a purchasing decision again, I would buy a different product. |

I purchased two of these units to use for real time video streaming. I attach the camera to the device, plug it into my PC, and then encode the signal and broadcast it over the internet. They work flawlessly for this purpose. |

So far so good. It works with my VCR, DVR, and Camcorder. Software could be better but not bad. |
Be prapared for trial and error.

Unit captures very smooth high quality video provided your machine is fast. It does NOT capture audio via the USB like the Pinnacle products. You must use the pass through to the mic input. Figuring out the software in order to use s-video was a major pain. |

Unit almost works flawlessly, seems to have a software glitch concerning copyrighted files because it is finicky when I copy over homemade uncopyrighted VHS movies.
