Excellent Product

Purchased this enclosure so I could pop in my dead laptops hard drive into it to transfer all my data onto my new laptop. When I opened it i got scared because there was a label saying the hard drive required formatting before use, but that wasn't the case. I popped the hard drive into it and was able to read my data with no bumps in the road. I like the fact that it also has an eSATA port as well, that transfer speed helps. Highly recommend this product for those looking to do what I did for a great price. Solid enclosure.

Great Enclosure , Does what it promises

I Purchase this to use as a second boot disk with for my work laptop. But as it turns out the laptop can't boot from eSata (very strange) The enclosure it self is awesome. I will purchase a ITB hard drive to do my regular backups and even work from it directly. The speed with eSATA is really awesome. I could not believe my eyes when I first witnessed it. I recommend it to anyone who is tired of the slow USB speeds, especially if you work alot with large file like game images , large backup images etc.

Bought at the Recommendation of a Friend

I bought this when I purchased my laptop because I also bought a 120GB SSD to swap in for the stock platter hard drive that came with the laptop. I had no problems putting the platter hard drive into the enclosure. I was a bit puzzled why it had what looked like an USB power plug, but it turns out that is to be used with the eSATA connection. I was frankly astonished how fast the eSATA transfers files; it's a shame my laptop lacks an eSATA port but I can transfer files onto the external hard drive from my desktop with eSATA. I would recommend this product to others without reservation.

Good value

This is a good value hard drive enclosure. It's a bit thinner and longer than say, a WD Passport. It comes with a very cheap case. It gets the job done, though. If you're looking to buy one of these, it's probably because your laptop died and you just want access to the files on your old drive. This will work for you.

Excellent deal

I purchased this after the salesman at a large electronic store told me I needed a $60 drive enclosure for my old laptop drive so that I could transfer the data to my new laptop. Thank god I decided to check out prices on this site before buying it. It's exactly what I needed and worked like a charm at a third of the price.
