almost perfect

I set it to record my favorite three channels at night and then I listen to them at work during the day where I can't get a signal (and my employer blocks web access). It sometimes takes a long time to start up (firmware 1.32X). I wish the record single function worked while playing back a timed recording so I could delete the timed recording while saving certain singles.

Needs better software

This is my first experience with satellite radio. I'm impressed with the electronic features of the radio but surprised at the poor quality of the software. It's really difficult (i.e. many clicks) to navigate to what you want. Once you find it you cannot slew to a point (i.e. 10 minutes into a broadcast). You must listen up to the point of interest. It can record several channels at once. But having done that it's difficult to find what you want because it isn't time-stamped. Finally, their support software does not work with Windows 7 yet ... only XP. I look forward to a software upgrade ... free I hope.

Portable but not durable

I owned the previous version of this XM portable and was very pleased with its performance and features saved for one thing: durability. I frequently used this while running, bicycling, and kayaking. Needless to say there were several times the unit was exposed to rain and suffered several bumps and bangs. After two years of ownership, the battery corroded and now the unit no longer works. Furthermore, I'm disappointed that the newer version does not include the belt clip-on carrying case. Fortunately, I still have the old one. Still, it's a great deal and would be even better if it were ruggedized and made water resistant.
