Great Deal, High Quality Protection

I got 2of these, 1 for the new Sharp 60'', FIOS Modem & STB, and 1 for the laptop and peripherals. Having a sine wave output is especially attractive, although good switching supplies really don't care too much about their primary input the sleazy analog plug in wall warts tend to overheat from any appreciable DC component contained within a ''stepped sine approximation'' when funds permit there will be 1 more of these in the shop. PS, my Linux OS detected and installed the appropriate monitoring and control packages on USB plug in.

Dead on first strike

I had a power failure and the battery died totally after 3 weeks of usage. So it's so far, as I am concerned, a total flop. That battery does not hold the road very long.

Good bargin for the dollas

I bought this UPS for my network devices and to provide my home network extra protection against the summer months brown outs. The unit is durable and has enough power outlets for all my network devices without adding surge protectors.

Works great but management software outdated.

Had the UPS about 4 months and it works great supporting my home office. Only issue is that the UPSMON software is several versions out of date and is not compatible with Windows7. I have had to disconnect the automatic management feature because it keeps shutting down my computer (treats it like a laptop with a run down battery).

I tested it a couple of times seemed to do well then less than 1 month later I came home to find my pc room breaker popped. I reset it and josteled the unit around i could hear it throw sparks inside then popped the breaker again with nothing plugged into it. junk junk junk im sorry

GOOD VALUE

I have bought other ULTRA UPS in the past. Had trouble with one almost three years old, short by 1 week. They exchanged it very fast at no charge. This UPS so far has worked as advertised. Good product, good company. I will only buy ULTRA UPS for sure. RJ

Backup time is terrible

I am an engineer so I tested this UPS. The specs say 450 watts for 10 minutes. Ha.. I tested it with a 100 watt light bulb and it lasted 14 minutes with a full charge on the batteries. Forget the 10 minutes spec at 425 watts. Good price if you are willing to put up with maybe 5 minutes for your computer. I returned it....

Saved me already

The town that my office is in is notorious for power dropouts, especially in the summer. The Ultra has saved me from losing data mid-project at least once in the first 6 weeks of ownership. Seamless backup. Seems built very week. Outlets are mounted well. The whole unit feels solid. Heavy power cable - nice touch.
