Burned out after less than 1 minute of use
I had this model and loved it in general. Unfortunately I dropped and broke the glass beaker so ordered the refurbished version to replace it. I used it and it literally burned out after less than 1 minute of use. Smoke and all! Be ware.

Terrible refirbished item
i have this blender at home but wanted a second for my office. I ended up ordering 4 an they were all not working properly

Excellent blender, but refurb is so-so
Not sure why the previous reviewer says the blender shakes - it's one of the heaviest blenders out there - maybe they got a bad unit? The refurbished quality is almost perfect except the control panel plate is poorly attached (it hasn't come off, just lifted a bit on the corners). I originally owned the same blender about six years ago (purchased new for $125), so I'm not complaining about the $40 refurb at all.

Do not buy!
I bought this blender to replace an old one that I have had for many years. This one didn't work any better. I am returning it and going back to using my old one. This Cuisinart is loud and doesn't blend without shaking the whole unit.
