I wanted a Blu-Ray player that would burn DVD's. That's what this does, and it does it well, at a reasonable price. But you need a monitor that has HDMI with it to look at movies .

Does what it should at a reasonable price. Do note this is not a bluray burner, so don't expect it to burn to anything above DVDs.

doesn't work with my monitor???

OK, I figured buying a Bluray player would be as simple as a DVD player, right? I mean, they're both discs, right? Wrong! I have multiple monitors hooked up to my computer. When I click and drag the media player onto one of my screens, it stops playback and says, 'This playback device isn't compatible with the player.' It turns out that the specific LCD monitor doesn't support the flavor of DVI that the bluray player is expecting, so it refuses to play content on that screen. Apparently this is a security feature. In summary, the device itself works fine, but I had no idea that I would have these kinds of problems with bluray versus DVD. The product description made no mention of these restrictions. Be sure to do a little more research yourself before buying.

Works

Had a difficult time getting it to play blue-rays. The included software is out dated and needed to be updated. Windows 7 users make sure you have your updates installed before installing the included software. May be beter off getting a better drive if you want to avoid the hassles. Otherwise, it's working at present.
