not for metal mailboxes
Even when mounted on the outside of the mailbox, metal interferes with transmission from the tilt switch. Oops. They need a higher frequency (and shorter range) for metal mailboxes. I'd buy one then. Otherwise, do not attempt to use on metal mailboxes.
