Works as advertised
I have my TV hanging on the wall in the kitchen and my HD Cable box in the furnace room in the basement. Was looking for an IR extender that did not need a transmitter plugged in anywhere in the kitchen. This was the only one I found and it works like a charm. The transmitter sits in one of the battery slots of the remote control so it doesn't need to be pointed anywhere...just press the buttons and it works. It comes with 2 rechargeable batteries and the receiver doubles as a charger. Neat setup.

Solid but should know
Don't try to use two of them in moderate proximety. Changing the wireless channel doesn't prevent you from changing the channel on multiple devices that each have a receiver. Otherwise, the product works great. Just rotate your batteries so they don't go stale and fail. You shouldn't experience bandwidth interference with the most common wireless devices or microwaves. Great for devices in closets. Better than running cables for IR reception for sure.

Wow, better than expected
It works very well, easy installation. I tried it throught 3 walls at about 40 feet and works very well. I am very happy with that. I bought another battery and I control now 3 HDTVs with one PVR receiver. I connected my 2 other HDTVs with a HDMI cable, with a HDMI amplifier-splitter. Now I am all set!
