Lasted Only Six Months
it only lasted six months till I got the blinking light of death. I should of just went with my gut and bought WD instead.

Good Product
I purchased this drive to replace the 250 GB drive that came in my MacBook Pro. The upgrade was performed a couple of weeks ago and I have had no problems since. I haven't found this drive to increase noise, and it seems pretty stable. Although I haven't actually timed this, it seems like my boot-up times are a little slower, but not too much. Once running, I've noticed good performance. At the price, this drive is a bargain.

Great for upgraders
I bought a new notebook bundled with a 360GB7200RPM but with the attractive price of this Hitachi I decided it was worth it to upgrade. I created Recovery DVD dics, removed the original drive, installed this Hitachi, and restored from the Reocovery DVD. This upgrade went flawless. Now I have the original notebook drive on standby just in case I need it. TigerDirect shipped it free and I received the package in excellent conditon 4 working days later.

Quiet Performer
I needed a new hard drive for a laptop, but given that the laptop is an Hpee with Turdion processor, it is always hot internally, even with a laptop cooling platform. Wanting to run it off an external casing via eSATA, this hard drive never fails to amaze me. Its low power consumption and narrow range power profile upon boot up allows powered via USB to work flawlessly. I find I get near desktop performance with this hard drive despite its 2.5'' size.
