Canopus ADVC55 Advanced Analog and Digital Video Convertor
The Canopus ADVC55 Advanced Analog and Digital Video Convertor connects VHS, Hi8, and other analog video equipment to a DV camera, deck, or editing system. The AVDC55 employs the Canopus DV codec and is ideal for capturing analog audio and video into FireWire (IEEE 1394)-equipped notebook and desktop editing computers. The AVDC55 accepts NTSC, PAL, and SECAM (input only) formats through S-video and composite inputs and outputs via FireWire (IEEE 1394). The ADVC55 is compatible with Windows and Mac OS computers. There are no drivers to install, and the unit does not require a power supply when used with a 6-pin DV cable.

Good Product
Works good,easy set up, Not as sharp as it could be but for the money its great. I use it to stream live video and its perfect for what we needed.

Does the job
Works as it should, just plug and play. I digitized 30 hours of 18-year old analog tape. Used the ADVC55 plugged into a MacBook Pro (firewire) and captured the video in DV format into iMovie.

Does what it says
No frills but the perfect way to import analog video into a computer. Plug the VCR in one end other end into Firewire jack, done! I used iMovie to capture.
