D-Link DUB-H7 USB Hub
The D-Link DUB-H7 2.0 is a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-port hub that is backward compatible with USB 1.0 and 1.1. It provides an out-of-the-box industry standard that allows the connection of up to seven USB peripherals or devices to your USB ready PC or Mac. The D-Link DUB-H7 is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system.
Designed to provide quick and easy access, the D-Link DUB-H7 provides seven type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices, or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the DUB-H7 to the host computer or another USB hub, enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. Configured directly by the operating system, the D-Link DUB-H7 operates seamlessly with both Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh Operating Systems.
As a standard USB hub, the D-Link DUBH7 buffers USB data from any attached peripheral in compliance with USB specifications to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low-speed (1.5Mbps and 12Mbps) and high-speed (480Mbps) devices, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer.
Diagnostic LEDs provide port status for each port and power status. The DUB-H7 includes a Quick Install Guide, a 6-foot Hi-Speed USB 2.0 certified 'A' to 'B' cable, and an AC power supply.

I think I bought a defective one. Ports 3,4,and 5 just don't work. Ports 1 and 2 sometimes works but not at the same time. I frequently get the windows message USB Device Not Recognized. I wanted to stack a group of USD Flash drives on it. Port 1 works when it is alone but not when another flash drive is on port 2. |

My computer would stop at a certain point when I would boot it up. It is a new computer with Windows 7. I called Dell, no help. I carried it to a computer shop and the computer worked fine. When I got home I booted the computer without the D-Link Dub-H7 plugged in and the computer booted okay. I figured I might need driver. I called D-Link and they said it didn't come with driver for me to contact Miscroft. I had no luck with Miscroft. Now the product is out of the 30 day warrantly to send it back. Guess I am stuck with a bad product. Before I turn my computer on I have to unplug the D-Link Dub-H7 from the USB Port. |

This isn't the first D-Link product I've purchased and it won't be my last. I'm running it off my laptop, I've 2 external hard drives, printer, keypad, charging my bluetooth, AND running my mobile broadband modem (which takes 2 usb ports) and all working perfectly. |

USB 1.1 was great when it was introduced almost a decade ago. But
the newer USB 2.0 transfers data dramatically faster - up to 40 times
quicker. Plus, USB 2.0 provides additional bandwidth for multimedia and
storage applications, which are growing larger every year. Also to your
advantage is the fact that USB 2.0 is forward and backward compatible with
USB 1.1, which means that cables and connectors made for the original USB
configuration will also work perfectly in a USB 2.0 port, though some newer
devices are specifically designed for USB 2.0. It is always a good
idea to verify the version of USB supported by each device you want to use. |
